The association »Ecumenical Memorial Centre Plötzensee. Christians and Resistance« was founded in 2009. The aim is to intensify co-operation between the central memorial church of Germany’s Catholics, Maria Regina Martyrum, and the neighbouring Protestant Memorial Church Plötzensee and to commemorate the fact that resistance to National Socialism motivated by Christianity was ecumenical in nature.
Together, we organise events and presentations:
- Monthly »Plötzensee Evenings« (Ecumenical prayers for peace, usually on the last Thursday of the month at 18.30 in the crypt of the Catholic Memorial Church Maria Regina Martyrum)
- »Ecumenical Plötzensee Days« with services, presentations and concerts on 23 January to mark the anniversary of Helmuth James Graf von Moltke
- Events marking 20 July
- Projects for schools, guided tours of the memorial churches, seminars
- Exhibitions and much more
A library on the topic of resistance is under construction.
